Introduction of Visit Maldives Club

The Visit Maldives Club is a unique initiative by the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), designed to unite both direct and indirect stakeholders of the Maldives tourism industry. The mission of the Burunu Boma, Resort Edition is to create an exciting, inclusive, and sustainable fishing competition that brings together resorts from across the Maldives. We aim to provide a platform for anglers to showcase their skills, foster community engagement, and promote the Maldives as a top-tier sport fishing destination. Through the Burunu Boma we strive to highlight the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and ethical fishing practices, while delivering a memorable experience that celebrates the natural beauty and marine biodiversity of the Maldives.

Our vision is to establish the Burunu Boma, Resort Edition as the premier fishing tournament in the Maldives, known for its vibrant competition, sustainable practices, and positive impact on tourism. COMPETITION CONCEPT

The Burunu Boma, Resort Edition is an exciting two-day fishing competition that brings together resorts from across the Maldives for a thrilling showdown on the water. Held from April to May 2025, the competition begins with a qualifying round, where all teams will battle for a spot in the final round. The top 20 teams with the highest points will advance to the final round at Crossroads Marina Bay, where they will compete for prestigious prizes.

The main event base at Marina Bay, Crossroads Maldives will offer a vibrant and festive atmosphere, featuring live entertainment, a DJ, and a fishi ng festival vi be. In addition to the competition, there will be merchandise booths offering exclusive event gear and a chance to purchase unique items. Sponsors will also have dedicated booths to showcase their products and services , contributing to the events dynamic and engaging experience.

With a focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, and sustainable fishing practices, the Burunu Boma event aims to highlight the Maldives as a premier fishing destination. Both team and individual awards will recognize the top anglers for their biggest catches and overall performance, ensuring an exciting and unforgettable experience for all participants.

COMPETITION STRUCTURE

First Round (Qualifying Round):

All participating resorts from across the Maldives will compete in the first round.

Goal: Team will aim to accumulate the highest number of points by catching eligible species, which will qualify them for the final round.

Final Round:

The top 20 teams from the first round will qualify for the final round

Location: The final round will begin at Crossroads Marina Bay, where the top teams wil compete to win the Game Fish and Big Game fish categories.
